THE PENTHOUSE (APT4) AND BATHWICK VIEW (APT2)
These two apartments are part of a recent development of four high quality apartments above a solicitor’s office. The apartments are located on the 2 upper floors of the building; Bathwick View is on the second (US 3rd) floor and The Penthouse Suite is on the third (US 4th) floor.
The apartment building is located very close to the main attractions of Bath. Bath’s famous Abbey and Roman Baths are about 200m away. The modern Southgate Shopping Centre lies directly behind with a range of supermarkets, high street multiples, extensive parking and individual boutiques and restaurants.

Bathwick View and The Penthouse are situated on the main street leading north from train station and bus station into the city, a level walk of about 100m. Paid-for parking for further cars is available directly opposite the apartments in Manvers Street pay and display Car Park and also adjacent to the apartments in Southgate Car Park. A pedestrian crossing links Manvers Street car park to the entrance of the apartment building. It is possible to carry bags from the car park across the street straight into the apartments.
Access to the apartments is via the (disabled access) front door, which is open during business hours. An electronic key pad, which requires a 4 digit code, is used outside these hours, allowing greater security. There is a second door from the outer lobby to the inner lobby, also requiring the same code.
Door entry codes will be provided with booking confirmation.
The inner lobby contains the main staircase leading to the upper floors. This stone staircase is wide and has handrails on both sides. There is no lift. The building is Georgian in style (rebuilt in the mid 1970s) so ceilings are high and the staircase is long, but with regular steps of approx 15cm height. Between each floor is a half landing on the curve of the stairs which provides a place for rest, if required. The carpeting is good commercial grade non-slip, with extra rubber non-slip pads on the lip of the steps. There is no wheelchair access and we advise that these apartments are not suitable for guests with other than the most minor mobility problems.
We regret that no pets, only assistance dogs, are permitted.

Access to the individual apartments is via a single key. Each apartment front door opens into a small hall, off which are double doors leading to the lounge and thence the kitchen which contains built in: fridge; freezer; coffee machine; washer/dryer; dishwasher; hob; and separate double oven (with knobs at the top).
There are also two doors off the hall leading to each of the 2 bedrooms and one door leading to a shower room with a WC and hand basin.
The larger bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The bath has hand holds and a hand held shower head to assist bathing. There is a low level WC, stone washbasin and heated towel rail in each bathroom. There is also underfloor heating.
The smaller bedroom has limited access to each side of the bed. The shower room also has limited/narrow access to a stone washbasin and low level WC. There is a step up to get into the shower cubicle.
All apartment floors are carpeted with the exception of the kitchen and bathrooms which are tiled. There are no steps within the apartments. All light switches are low level and electrical sockets are raised above floor level. The televisions in both the bedrooms and the lounge are wall-mounted, but can be used via remote control.
There are two fire extinguishers and a fire blanket in each kitchen. A fire extinguisher and alarm button are available on the landing outside each apartment. Each apartment has a fire notice in the hall detailing the fire assembly point plus emergency numbers, and there are further instructions in the Welcome Pack and on the main staircase.
The Welcome Book is to be found on the dining room table, in the event that neither the Caretaker nor the Housekeeper are available to welcome guests personally (usually for arrivals after 6pm).
